City Lake Updates

Project Vision

Exciting renovations are coming to the City Lake, offering new amenities for everyone to enjoy! The upgrades will focus on the entrance at City Lake with pavement, expanded parking, a restroom/shower facility for comfort and convenience, and a modern playground for kids. These enhancements will transform City Lake into a destination for fun and relaxation!

  • 4/2/2024 - Bond approved by voters

  • 8/13/24 - Preliminary Contract approved COMPLETED

  • Contract Approval: anticipated 10/28/24 COMPLETED

  • Phase 1 Completion: July 2025 (originally anticipated Spring 2025) COMPLETED

  • Phase 2 Completion (if needed): estimated Winter 2025

Current Status

August 1, 2025: City Lake GRAND OPENING

July 2025: Restroom/shower facility construction completed; way-finding signage installation begun; final walkthroughs started

June 2025: Plumbing and concrete work begun for restroom/shower facility; kayak launch installed; horseshoe drive installed at dump station; parking lot completed

May 2025: Chip and seal main road completed; horse shoe pit concrete slabs poured

April 2025: Grading and site work begun; playground equipment installed

January 2025: Playground equipment has been delivered to 3rd party installer

October 2024:

  • 10/28/24 City Council unanimously approved a construction contract with Precision Construction and Contracting dba PCC Sports for renovations

  • 10/14/24 - Design is over 90% complete

August 2024:

  • 8/12/24 - Council selects PCC Sports as the design build firm and executes a preliminary agreement for design work to be completed over the next 90 days.

  • 8/1/24 - Shortlisted firm interviews completed

July 2024:

  • 7/25/24; 7/26/24 - Qualifications Received and firms shortlisted for interviews

June 2024:

  • 6/26/24 - Request for Qualifications for Design Build Firm

  • 6/21/24 - Navigate Building Solutions selected as Owner’s Representative

  • 6/12/24 - Funding approved and bonds issued

April 2024: Prop P1: Parks Bond approved by voters
